BigPurplePhone is a multifunctional communication system (MCS) that is used for distant communication. It is classified as Assistive Technology (AT) and is listed on the Australian Government's Geat2Go website and the Australian National Equipment Database (NED).

We can assist you with your order for a fully subsidised BigPurplePhone if you, your client or your loved one are unable to use their phone for communication.

Ordering a BigPurplePhone with Commonwealth Home Support Package (CHSP) funding

The BigPurplePhone SilverFox Edition and Talk&Text Edition is available for Commonwealth Home Support Package (CHSP) Recipients to be included in the Geat2Go.org.au website.

Geat2Go.org.au allows Allied Professionals such as Occupational Therapists to order goods, equipment, and assistive technology (GEAT) through the National GEAT provider under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP). The Geat2Go website is not available to the public.

Your OT will order BigPurplePhone SilverFox or Talk&Text Edition for you on the Geat2Go website using your CHSP funding. We will then ship it directly to you.

Ordering a BigPurplePhone with Home Care Package (HCP) funding

If your Package Manager has determined that you are eligible for a BigPurplePhone with your HCP Funding, they will order it with us, or one of our stockists using your HCP funds. As soon as your package manager has paid for your phone it is shipped.

Ordering a BigPurplePhone with NDIS funding

Firstly, speak with your OT, Support Co-ordinator or Allied professional about getting an Assessment done for a BigPurplePhone. Take your Assessment with you to your Planning Meeting to have the BigPurplePhone added to your plan.

If you are Plan Managed or Self Managed then you can purchase Assistive Technology through your NDIS funding. Simply order and pay online here on our website. You will receive an order confirmation but you can also contact us at hello@bigpurplephone.com.au and we can put the NDIS participant number on the invoice and send it to you. 


Ordering a BigPurplePhone Support at Home Funding

If you need a BigPurplePhone, and you have funds available:

  1. Ask your Dr / Nurse / OT / Physio for a prescription;
  2. Send it to your MyAgedCare Package Manager. 

Your Package Manager will order it with us, or one of our stockists using your Support at Home funds. As soon as your package manager has paid for your phone it is shipped.

What is a Multi Functional Communication System?

An MCS is a device that allows the user alternative ways of communication. 

MCSs are included under "Distant Communications" in the June 2025 Home Modifications - Assistive Technology (HM-AT) List. The HM-AT List is a part of the new Support At Home program. Under the new program, MCSs are included for funding, but they do need to be prescribed by a OT, Doctor, Nurse or other allied health professional. 

BigPurplePhone is specifically designed for older people who truly cannot communicate with a regular phone due to age-related disability. It is an assistive product that is used for distant communication. If you are assessed as needing assistance with distant communication, then you can be prescribed a BigPurplePhone by your local doctor, a nurse, OT or other allied health or medical professional.

BigPurplePhone has a Remote Carer Website so others can manage the phone for the person who is unable, is picture driven, has an SOS button, Medical Reminders, the ability to Speak a Message, has specially designed Video Communication which is easier to use than regular video calls, support for Switch and other Accessibility settings, it is a speaking phone, and it is AA Accessibility rated.

How to create an invoice or quote for a BigPurplePhone

Ready to create an invoice? Here's a step-by-step proceedure:

  1. Add your products to your cart: Add your product to the cart as if you were goimg to buy today
  2. Once all products are added, click on the cart icon on the top right hand side of the screen. You'll see your products in here.
  3. Once you're at the cart screen, follow the prompt and go to 'checkout' (don't worry, you will not be charged)
  4. FiIll out all of your details here, ensure name and adress is correct. This is the information that will go on your Quote or Invoice.
  5. Once all the info is filled in, scoll down to payment options and click either 'Create An Invoice' or 'Create A Quote'.
  6. Click 'complete order'. You will recieve an email shortly with a quote. An invoice will come through once our team review your order.

Once your invoice or quote is paid, and we ship upon remittance.

How to create an invoice or quote for a BigPurplePhone

Ready to create an invoice or quote? It takes about two minutes — and don't worry, you will not be charged.

  1. Add your products to the cart — just as if you were going to buy today.
  2. Open your cart — click the cart icon at the top right of the screen. You'll see your products in there.
  3. Go to checkout — follow the prompt from the cart screen. You will not be charged.
  4. Fill in your details — make sure the name and address are correct. This is the information that will appear on your quote or invoice.
  5. Scroll to payment options — and select either "Create An Invoice" or "Create A Quote".
  6. Click "complete order" — you'll receive an email shortly with your quote. An invoice will come through once our team reviews your order.
